AX 2k2 Report
Thursday:
Weather: Sunny, not too hot, cool breeze
This is the day we arrived. Got our badges, wandered, took pictures, tried to figure out our schedule and walked down to the pier for dinner and the fireworks. No costumes. The traffic afterwards was awful and pretty scary. Makes paying for a hotel room sound really good. Staying at a friend's is cool and all and definitely cheaper, but traffic and traveling time can ruin a good trip.

Friday:
Weather: Started out cloudy, turned to sunny, a little warmer, still a nice breeze
Arrived LATE. Which was really upsetting. I thought girls were picky on their costumes, but Oniisan and our friend were driving us nuts. Had to call Scuzzi to find out whether the Generals wore their boots under or over their pants and what colour belts they wore. They tried to search on the computer, but couldn't find good enough pictures. *sigh* Then they decided to go buy new boots!! >.<
So anyhow it gave me time to finish putting the feathers on Usagko's Cosmos sleeves and put the pinbacks on Oniisan's shoulder decorations. But they took forever! Atleast they bought us lunch. So hours after we woke up we had our Sailor Moon Group ready. Usagko as Sailor Cosmos (minus the staff. I had made one, but the top wouldn't stay on straight :p So there'll be more pics later), I went as Sailor Iron Mouse, Luna went as "human" Luna (unfortunately she didn't finish the costume, but she had the necklace and I pulled her hair up in odangos ^_^), Oniisan was Nephlyte, and our friend was Jedite (and from now on that's what I'll call him *^^*) So about 3 pm we arrived at the Convention Center. Usagko and I had to go register for the Masq and hand in our music so off we went. No trouble there ^_^ When we came back we found Tsuki had joined our group!! YEAH!!! I was so worried we wouldn't run in to her. I love meeting the people I chat with on line especially when they're super cool like her ^__^
Spent most of the day having our picture taken *lol* It's exciting and exhausting. At one point Usagko and I ran to the restroom and it took us half an hour to get back to the others because we were stopped so much. We did make it to the Dealer's Room and saw lots of things we wanted. I sooooo wanted the Mini Moni bag, but thought they were charging too much so didn't buy it. Actually didn't buy anything that day. Should have though because it wasn't until Sunday that we were able to get back in there because of the long lines. Met Misa and her friend and learned Hakyun! A new otaku word in Japan. We'll be adding her link soon so please go visit her site!! Not much else happened that day. Wanted to do so much, but ran into a few problems. We'll skip that and go on to...

Saturday:
Weather: Sunny, warmer still, but pleasant
Arrived early today because Luna, Oniisan, and Jedite wanted tickets to the Masq. Dressed in our Tanpopo costumes Usagko and I said we would meet them later. Spent the morning a little sick *bleh* and then trying to figure out why the flash on my camera wasn't working. The other 3 apparently decided we weren't cool enough to hang out with today so we were on our own. Met Tsuki again. Yeah! But it was such a busy day we couldn't hang out as much :(
Dealer's Room line was too long for us so we grabbed some lunch and headed off to the Voice Actors Forum held by the school from Japan. I love voice acting! I wanted to hang around and voice Milphy from Galaxy Angels, but we had a Masq meeting to attend. Well, it was 45 mins late so I could have stayed for the V.A. Oh, well...Met the Stitchin' Babes and Emi-san and Sara and the others. All very nice and cool people. Nothing really exciting about the meeting. We were supposed to have rehearsals, but since we were #29 we had plenty of time. We found an empty spot and reworked our routine. >.<...changing your dance a few hours before your performance is not always smart, but we kept most of it so it was small changes here and there. It was turning out great! Now if we could remember it...
Rehearsals were going over time and we had to change costumes so luckily Marissa let us go. Yeah! Thank you Marissa!! Grabbed a quick dinner and frantically changed. We made it in time!

Masq:
This year we signed up for the Masq. I think we must have changed our skit idea hundreds of times >.< We actually had decided upon a set of elaborate costumes with wings and a beautiful dance that told a story. Unfortunately a few days before AX I stressed out over final costume details and we left them at home. They will appear on our site soon though ^_^ We also decided that everything had gotten way to competitive. Who had the largest costume, the biggest group, the best skit, etc...So decided to have simple fun the PMC way ^0^ Scuzzi suggested performing a comedy dance Usagko and I had created for Ayeka and Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo! We wore our Tenchi Muyo in Love school girl uniforms and danced to The Shoub Shoub Song (It's In His Kiss) by Cher. In the skit we argued over the LightHawk Sword and did some competitive dancing. Portraying the "Anything you can do I can do better" kind of fighting :) We remembered everything! And it was fun!!!!!! Thank you to everyone who said we did a good job and liked our dance ^_^ I would also like to say how great it was to talk to everyone before the Masq. HOKAGE, iPlay, The Iron Chef Guy, and all the others. Sorry I don't know your real names ^_^;; I missed the first half of the Masq so I hope we can get a video of it. I think the Vampire Hunter D group definitely deserved Best of Show. I'm glad we got to see that skit. Did anyone else notice the height of the platforms "Meyer" wore?? Ouch...And I really liked Amiee's Shiva. I didn't see it on stage, but I saw it Friday and backstage and it was excellent. And the Stitchin' Babes skit was hilarious. So much to say about everything! Loved the Music Videos, but you know you're sitting amongst cosplayers when a CCS drama video is playing and you hear "wow...you can see all her costumes!" *lol* I could probably go on forver, but this is getting long enough ^_~

Sunday:
Weather: Same, same, same :)
No costumes today. Went shopping and bought stuff. Usagko got a Sailor Moon calender, bought Scuzzi a Maison Ikkoku video, brought home Mom a Lodoss Wars calender. I got a Dejiko mousepad and an Onpu plushi. Kawaii!!! Did some tourist like things like the boat ride and eating handmade pretzels on the pier *laugh*
